but I see bits of your armor flying overhead
in the beaks of eagles.
They have pecked out your eyes
and still you pretend to describe the sunset.
Andrea Jackson has an M.F.A. from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, writes both fiction and poetry, and has received two Pushcart nominations and one nomination for the Best of the Net anthology. Currently she has a story forthcoming in Alligator Juniper. She is working on a novel/memoir about her mother’s life.
