Kindness is like snow — it beautifies everything it covers.
— Kahlil Gibran
Winter is here, and so is our final issue of 2016.
This was a great year at Citron. We started with the Queer Issue (Spring 2016) with guest editors, Jenny Factor, Seth Fischer, Shannon Barber, and Milcah Orbacedo. In June we published an expanded issue, Citron Six (Summer 2016), and in the fall we added notes on the selections from the editors in each genre.
This winter we welcome Nicholas Olson (Assistant Editor/Fiction Editor) and Zach Jacobs (Creative Nonfiction Editor) to our team. Nick also edits at Cease, Cows and reviews for The Review Review. He was a finalist for Glimmer Train’s 2016 Very Short Fiction Award and has been published in SmokeLong Quarterly, Hobart, Literary Orphans, decomP, and in other great journals. Zach’s writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Sport Literate, The Examined Life Journal, and Fine Lines. He is currently working on a collection of essays and an archaeological memoir.
We are looking forward to the new year. In February we will open for submissions in poetry, flash fiction, micro-fiction, creative nonfiction, and more. Look for updated guidelines for submitting to The Citron Review at that time.
On behalf of the editors at The Citron Review, this winter we wish you kindness, beauty, and a happy new year.
