The Love and Desire Issue

Letter from the Editor

There are two ways to reach me: by way of kisses or by way of imagination. But there is a hierarchy:
the kisses alone don’t work.

We’re delighted to publish this literary love letter of an issue, Love and Desire. In “Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power” Audre Lorde wrote, “Another important way in which the erotic connection functions is the open and fearless underlining of my capacity for joy.”  Whether love and desire remains or is lost, this issue reminds us of our capacity for joy. Even the story of a breakup is a celebration of once having loved, a celebration of want.

Our Summer Issue will be released soon. We’ve temporarily closed submissions for the month of July for a much needed Summer Break, but we will reopen in August.
