Ordinary Excitement

I’m excited by the most ordinary things. My grandpa sighed and said I have not seen enough of the world. The Four Blocks stretch from home to the Hong Kong Bakery Mister Softee Home Care Center to the Park where trees were on the outside only. Inside, the sky looks very big. One time in someone’s Monroe backyard, my grandpa shook his head: the horizon was too narrow. Small skies, he said, discourage. I didn’t think the sky was small but I completely understood why he would feel that way.
