Notes on the Fiction Selections

The fiction team is proud to present six flash fiction pieces for the Winter Issue. “Catch a Deluge in a Paper Cup,” “Picking the Bones,” “Skukuza, 1956” and “The Velociraptors” are all unusual and quirky pieces that show brief moments in time, blending thoughts of the two great universals: life and death, with powerful imagery that lingers after reading. “Four Generations” is a story about family and the connectivity we feel instantly.

We hope you are as moved as we were by these pieces and as inspired to see more in the seemingly simple moments of life.
