Sissy kept a lover in the basement and Junior hid a vagrant in the attic. Mama knew ’bout both, but she pretended to be senile.

 

Holly Baker’s work has appeared in both print and online publications, including LIT Magazine, Literary Mama, The Santa Clara Review, and others. Her work is also included in the forthcoming compilation YOU: An Anthology of Essays in the Second Person (Welcome Table Press). At various times, Holly has enjoyed being a teacher, a student, an editor, an early morning janitorial worker, a 31 Flavors scooper, and a chocolate addict.
